There is no minimum time that the estate needs to stay open, whether primary or ancillary administration. If the administration of the WA estate is complete, I would close the estate.

Subject: [WSBAPT] Closing Ancillary Probate in WA

Good afternoon,

I am working on an ancillary probate in Washington where the decedent was a resident of Idaho. The Idaho probate is wrapped up and there was property held in Washington. The PR opened an ancillary probate in Washington and sold the only asset - farmland. The PR has decided not to publish a notice to creditors in Washington because they are confident all creditors have already been given notice and the notice period for the Idaho creditor's claims has long expired. Is there a minimum timeframe in which the Washington probate must be kept open or can the PR file the Declaration of Completion now that the only Washington asset has been disposed of?

Respectfully,

Jennifer Tengono
