My advice is if you have a court appointing you to a role, you should be obtaining a court order discharging you from that role.  In connection with your situation, seeking the discharge due to minor attaining adulthood could provide clarification of whether the court still wants you involved to ensure the settlement is performed.

Subject: [WSBAPT] Minor turns 18 after mediation and case settles

I was appointed litigation GAL for 2 minors.  The case settled at mediation while both were minors and I have set the hearing for later this month but one of the minors is now 18 so I only prepared for the one who is still a minor.

What do I need to file or do with the minor who is now 18 and able to settle her own case?
The parents are part of the global settlement with their 2 children, one who is now an adult.

Have not faced this situation before.  Do I file something with the court that the minor is now 18?
