Thanks for that, Brent! I always faithfully add my death cert to the petition filing in King County, and always wonder if they really care about it. Now I finally have my answer.

Best,

Subject: [WSBAPT] Death Certificate Submission via Ex Parte (King County)

I have opened 12 probates in King County since June using the Ex Parte via the Clerk website for King County. Each time I have done it the exact same way....never with a Death Certificate.

This past Friday was the FIRST TIME - I had my submission rejected because I did not upload a Death Certificate. Maybe I have lucked out - maybe Judge Shaffer has never had my materials before - I don't know - but I wanted to just put myself out there as a warning to others. Upload a death certificate and just unclick the "E-File Me" button to avoid wasting $30.

Here I am - serving as a warning to others :)
