Dalynne: a declaration of 'not livable' might cause some liability to the estate and/or Administrator; and it probably would affect resale value.  Be very careful in this field of land mines.

Subject: [WSBAPT] Estate home with failed sewer and squatters

I have an estate home with a failed sewer which has leaked in the basement PLUS a squatter in the home and her husband (living in trailer on property).  It is a horrible situation.
The decedent offered his home to her temporarily b/c of an abusive relationship and after a few months, asked her to leave.  Then he died and now this!

The father of the decedent was appointed Administrator.

Does anyone have experience with contacting the Dept of Health to get a home inspection and determination the home is not livable - to meet the health and safety risk to people requirement for evictions?
A contact person or your experience in this type of situation would be most helpful.
