[WSBAPT] New death certificate law

The new death certificate law went into effect Jan 1.  There is now an informational copy and then the certified copy.
In a recent probate, I received a court order to "correct" the person who reported was not a spouse although she reported on the death cert. that she was the spouse.
It was not easy and took 2 court orders and 3 tries to get it right with the WA State Dept of Health.

*         For increased security of personal information, only individuals with specific relationships to the person on the record being requested can receive a certified copy.
*         Identity and proof of relationship documentation will be required. Exact documentation is still to be determined.
*         Certificate fee will increase to $25.00 per copy.
