Hi Jennifer,

Just ask them to transfer the will to Snohomish, I think there might be a small fee, but that is how we have done it.

Subject: [WSBAPT] Probate Move Counties?

Good Afternoon,
I have a case that was from a decedent in the 1980s, no one in the family knew of a Will, so probate was opened and administrator appointed in Snohomish County. However, during a recent move, it was discovered that a Will had been filed in King County in the 1980s but closed due to inactivity.

Should I reopen the King County probate, and ask to move to Snohomish County? Or, just admit a certified copy of the Will and Probate from King County in Snohomish ?

Thanks for any insights.
