I agree too. In the guardianship world, supplement reports are not uncommon. I’ve never asked for an order to file a supplement. I can’t imagine that it would be different in probate (the same commissions hear both types of cases).

Subject: [WSBAPT] Guardian Ad Litem Updating/Amending Report

Hello All,

I have a probate where very early on the PGAL issued a report recommending a blocked account for the distribution for a minor. Court did not discharge the PGAL because the distribution was not ready to be made as a property needed to sell still.

Six months later we are just about ready to close and the minor and his mother and PGAL are rethinking things and the PGAL is wanting to explore the option of and possibly recommend setting up a trust for the minor. PGAL has a query of whether he needs to do a petition to the court to "reopen his investigation" since he already issued a report. I am of the mind that he can simply file an amended report and have a hearing to approved since he was never discharged.

Both the PGAL and I would like the collective wisdom of the group on what would be the best way to move forward. Thank you in advance.
