Hi Lynn,

Don’t wait for a response from DSHS; they won’t respond to your notice unless the Decedent received state benefits.  If so, don’t worry—they will let you know by filing a creditor’s claim, lien, etc.

All,

My first more complicated estate and I am filled with questions. The estate is worth well over $100,000, so I sent the Notice of Appointment to DSHS. This is where my deskbook and the State website stop providing any information about what to do.

I have heard nothing back from DSHS. What is my next step?
