[WSBAPT] Q about counties and wrongful death, petition for SGAL for minor

I am opening probate for a deceased man who was killed at work in Sumas, WA (Whatcom County).
His significant other of 5 years and his 2 year old minor child lived with him up until his death in Maple Falls, WA (Whatcom County).
The estranged wife lived in Kelso, WA (Cowlitz County).  There are grown adult children scattered all over the country.

I want to file probate in King County for the convenience of the parties and attorneys involved.
The WD case will be filed in Whatcom County.

Q:  I am asking the court to recognize that the minor child's mother is legal guardian (without appt of separate LGAL) and waive the SGAL appt until there are monies for the WD.  I have done this several times before and I know that will be fine but want to confirm that SPR 98.16(a) allows for the Whatcom County WD suit with late appointment of an SGAL in that suit in Whatcom County.  The SGAL is on board with later appointment but my reading of the statute indicates that filing will be in Whatcom County with a Petition to Appoint SGAL and later report.

Are there any issues with handling this in this manner?
