Mark is certainly an excellent resource; I always appreciate his contributions to list serves. If he can’t, or you are in the hinterlands (the Neverlands?) though, you may want to use the Washington Courts certified professional guardian locater service; you fill out  a form with the basics, and they send it to their CPG listserve to see if anyone is interested. The fact is that the State much prefers professional guardians to lay, relative guardians. The financial and other requirements and reporting are becoming difficult for lay people to keep up with, and at least some DSHS and AAG staff, when they are being candid, acknowledge that this is the direction the State wants to go.

Hi all,

 

I'm looking for a professional guardian, specifically someone who has experience dealing with an incapacitated person with severe mental health issues (psychosis as opposed to dementia, for example). 

 

The incapacitated person is in King County, and the GAL is recommending full guardianship of the person and estate.
