Greetings to all on a holiday weekend,

I am thinking about RCW 72.09.480 ("Inmate Funds Subject to Deduction") impact on an inmate's discretionary spend-thrift trust. I am considering a situation where a parent is creating a third party supplemental needs trust for the benefit of their child who is incarcerated for a few more years.

Have folks seen RCW 72.09.480 come up against trusts? And do folks have any drafting tips or pitfalls they can share? I may well need a consult on this and self-referrals for that will be gladly accepted.

Thanks,

Jacob
