I do as Diane does, but (in a form of belt and suspenders) I also state that any assets held in either the new name or the old name will be considered to be assets of the trust.

Hello Suzanne,

Not sure if you got any answer but a simple name change should be done by an amendment – in my amendments there is a sentence that states something to the effect, “except as otherwise provided above, the _______ Trust dated ______ is restated in it’s entirety.”

I’m not sure if that’s what you mean by restatement – feel free to send me your direct e-mail for more.

Good morning,

We are just doing a trust and trustor/trustee name changes. Is a restatement necessary? Is anyone willing to share a sample?

Sincerely,
