Yes.
Keep in mind however that if a life estate was created on or after 7/1/05 that the real estate is considered an asset.

If a person has a life estate in real property can they use their funds to make repairs to the real property that need to be done and not have the funds being considered as a transfer that would disqualify them from medicaid benefits?
