Check to see if the State has a Death Certificate on file with their department of vital statistics (or whatever they call it). Do you have the date of birth?

 

Sometimes you can get lucky with google.

We have a missing beneficiary with a history of mental health and criminal issues – last known in California 2018.  I just need to verify he’s NOT dead.  Any easy ways to do this besides third party?  Thanks!
