[WSBAPT] Late filed Creditor Claim

Hello -

I figure that this is an easy question, but I have not dealt with it before nor seen the question posted here.

Just received a formal creditor claim for approximately $250.00 from a collection agent for a medical provider who provided treatment supposedly for the decedent’s last illness. According to the PR and other family members who regularly check the decedent’s house and mailings, this is the first contact that they have received, there have been no prior billing statements. First publication of Notice to Creditors was the end of January. So the claim period expired over a month before the claim was mailed.

My question: what to do with the late filed claim? Ignore it, deny it, contact the claimant, something else?

Thanks in advance for the advice.

Best regards
Rich
