Wong Fleming is a medium sized law firm in Redmond, WA.  We are the largest woman and minority owned law firms in the nation.  We are a team-oriented and fast paced firm and are seeking a family law associate interested in enhanced work-life balance as a full-time associate attorney.  We are looking for a collegial self-starter who has a passion for helping families through one of the toughest times of their lives.
This position requires a law degree (J.D.) and a minimum of 3-5 years of experience as an attorney. Must be licensed to practice law in Washington State. Should have 3+ years' experience in Family Law or a related field of law.
You will actively handle all aspects of a client's case, including communicating with clients, drafting pleadings, conducting discovery, preparing for and attending hearings, mediations, and trials. Overall, this position is intended to be a challenging experience for someone looking to be a highly effective family law attorney.
Your supervisor will be Managing Attorney, Ramina Dehkhoda-Steele. Your qualifications should meet most of the following:
The person hired for this position will have significant responsibility early on, and will be expected to possess:
* Strong research skills; experience with Family Soft/Support Calc and with MS Office applications including Excel is required.
* Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills, as well as strong written and verbal communication skills.
* A solid work ethic, impeccable attendance and punctuality, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team are critical.
* A positive attitude, the ability to set priorities and work under pressure, and the ability to establish a good rapport with firm attorneys and clients are vital. Salary is commensurate with experience.
Candidate must be a current, active member of the Washington State Bar Association in good standing. Must successfully pass a background check. Daily work expectations include:
* Establishing positive and collaborative working relationships with clients, colleagues and the courts.
               * Effectively applying legal solutions to clients' issues.
* Clearly and empathetically communicating legal options to clients.
* Researching case law, drafting correspondence and drafting and filing pleadings.
* Effectively representing clients at hearings, depositions and trial.
* Consulting with and retaining new clients.
* Working with staff to accurately calendar all hearings, filing deadlines and other key dates.
* Timely communicating with the Managing Attorney and team members to continue developing skill set and taking on more challenging legal issues.
* Using FamilySoft, Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.) and other technology to efficiently generate work product and records.
* Strong analytical, written & oral communication skills.
* Ability to multi-task on a variety of projects.
* Ability to work both independently & within a team environment.
* Take ownership of assignments and accept responsibility of work product.
