[WSBAPT] End of Life

Sarah, what is he looking for? Some way to state in a document that he is not to be placed into a facility once he becomes completely incapacitated? If so, unless he has tremendous funds to support 24-hour at home care indefinitely, most likely that wish could not be granted.

I could talk with him if he would like, but if he has questions about Medicaid, I'm not the best person to speak with. My referral would be Barbara Isenhour at Isenhour Bleck.

Best,
Candace Wilkerson

Subject: [WSBAPT] End of Life

I have a client with many questions surrounding options around end-of-life. He has a stroke disorder that will progressively worsen to the point the he will inevitably be disabled and likely incompetent. He is very concerned about his options and/or the options of his attorney in fact to prevent his continued care in a facility (his mother lived in a facility for 10+ years prior to her death).

I am not well-versed in such-any referrals would be appreciated.

Regards,
Sarah E. Smith, Esq.
