I’ve had a couple of cases where the original will was not found, but the client had a copy, so I had to authenticate the copy. In both cases, the lawyer who drafted the will was able to affirm that the copy was the same as the original.
I haven’t had on where there is an assertion of an original will, but not copy has been found. Only a matter of time . . . .

It depends on the county as each are doing things a little differently.
In King county, I have been able to use efiling and ex parte via the clerk and open probates, get signed Orders and Letters.
If you need to have a hearing, I think you can still file and serve, note for hearing but it will be no oral argument unless ordered by the court and then by telephone.
