[WSBAPT] Liquidation of Investment Portfolio

Dear Colleagues:

A PR is considering whether to liquidate a large investment portfolio due to
current events and concerns about a recession. The portfolio has performed
well. We are within 6-8 months of completing the probate and distributing
to beneficiaries. The beneficiaries of the investment portfolio are a
number of nonprofits.

The PR is not qualified, nor am I, to make the decision regarding
liquidation. I have to consider that this decision may come before the
court. I believe it would be more defensible if an expert, such as an
economist, provided an opinion, rather than rely on the portfolio's current
investment advisor or another financial advisor.

What are your thoughts? Is there an expert at the University of Washington
or elsewhere that you would recommend?

Carrie
