[WSBAPT] emotional distress tort claim....is there still a cause of action in Washington??

I see that there is a law review article about this general subject  by Charles  Erhardt at 64 Wash U L Q  867.

Client (son) believes a third party manipulated his widowed mother in a manner which caused the mother to disinherit the son. Does the son (my client) have a legal cause of action under Washington law against the third party who destroyed the mother/son relationship?
