[WSBAPT] emotional distress tort claim....is there still a cause of action in Washington??

Client (son) believes a third party manipulated his widowed mother in a
manner which caused the mother to disinherit the son. Does the son (my
client) have a legal cause of action under Washington law against the third
party who destroyed the mother/son relationship? In the olden days,
Washington allowed an “alienation of affection” case in certain situations,
but there doesn’t appear to be any authority today. Any thoughts out there??
