[WSBAPT] Small Estate Affidavit situation?

Decedent died 26 years ago. A probate was opened and completed. Now, 26 years later, decedent receives a $20,000 check from a stock that has matured. The existence of the stock was unknown 26 years ago. Can the surviving child of the decedent take possession of and cash the check via a small estate affidavit or must he reopen the probate?
