[WSBAPT] Creditor Notice in Ancillary WA Probate

Dave - I'm not sure this will help, but the way to look at this is from the prospective that Washington does not technically have an ancillary probate statute. An ancillary probate in Washington is treated just like any other probate, including the application of the claims statute. I would be concerned that the Washington probate assets would not be protected under a the application of the claims statute in the foreign jurisdiction which is designed to protect the probate assets in that state, but not necessarily the asset who fall under another state's jurisdiction.

Subject: [WSBAPT] Creditor Notice in Ancillary WA Probate

Hi all,

When the WA probate is an ancillary probate, what type of notice to creditors do people typically provided in the ancillary probate? All creditors already received notice in the primary probate. Do those same creditors need to receive notice again from the ancillary Washington probate. I have not been able to find any clear guidance in the RCWs.

Thanks,
Dave
