[WSBAPT] Must I Re-open Probate??

I have this problem:

Will probated in King County probate that is long since closed, leaving assets to trust for lifetime of surviving spouse. Disposition at death of surviving spouse is confusing, with a 10 year old beneficiary, and needs to be cleared up with a TEDRA and a GAL.

Surviving spouse's probate is Pierce County. Most but not all of the assets to be distributed under the trusts formed at first spouse's death are partly owned by surviving spouse's estate.

Here's the question:

Do we need to reopen the King County probate to appoint the GAL in both estates or is it sufficient to appoint the GAL in the Pierce County probate only??

Thank you!

Best regards,
Kerry
