RCW 11.98.005 seems to make registration of the trust an optional matter. It seem more likely and useful when the parties or assets are in more than one jurisdiction.

Hello listmates:

If a married couple with no beneficiaries besides a minor child creates a WA basic revocable trust for the purpose of avoiding probate, is it really necessary to register the trust per RCW 11.98.005? Alternatively, if the same couple creates a CA revocable trust that later is amended with situs in WA, should that trust be registered in WA?

Thanks,
