WSBA Community Property Deskbook Ch. 2.7 (4th ed. 2014). See also Estate of Langeland (Wn. App. 2013).

Wrongful death, the survivor is unfortunately left without a right of action. Committed intimate relationship (CIR) does not give the surviving partner the statutory rights of a spouse in a WD context, or any other context for that matter. Only spouses and state registered domestic partnerships.
