When Social Security or a pension or annuity has made a direct deposit to the account of a person who died during the month of receipt, the recipient is not entitled to keep the money. I'm working on a probate where the company didn't discover the death till after the decedent's accounts were closed. Do you usually send them a Notice to Creditors? Or are they treated differently?

Thanks.
