[WSBAPT] Notice to Creditors - Exemption - Seattle Muni Court?

Good Morning List -

In a probate matter I am handling, the Executors sent a Notice to Creditors
to Seattle Municipal Court as they thought that our Decedent may have a
judgment against him. The letter was sent April 13, 2018, 30 days was May
12. Today, the Court called me wanting more information.

I have looked through the statute and when I was preparing to issue
rejection letter in May read through case law but saw nothing that exempted
a government agency or court from the 30 day requirement.

At this time, I am not inclined to give out any additional information
regarding my decedent. He tried to put it on me saying that I should have
sent a death certificate with the notice - I deflected saying that I sent
what was required by law.

Not looking to tangle with Seattle City Attorney's office - but I also not
inclined to create an exemption to this statute where I do not know one
exists.

Appreciate any assistance if I need to acquiesce to their request.

Thank you!

Brent
