I have opened probate and received letters and have to tell the court in the petition I haven’t found heirs. Not usually a problem. I usually hire a PI guy to help me find missing heirs, less than publishing.

Subject: [WSBAPT] Petition to Publish Notice to Missing Heir

Hi listmates,

I am in early stages of a probate where there is an heir that has been out of the picture for years. Neither family, funeral home, or records search has been able to locate his current address.

I want to appoint my client as administrator with nonintervention powers, but that of course requires notice to all heirs if under the catch-all provision of RCW 11.68.11(1)(c)

Would Anyone have a petition and order I could borrow to ask the court to allow my client to give notice to a missing heir by publication?

I read the relevant statutes, but having a template document to start from would be a great assistance.

Thank you for any and all assistance,

Best regards,

Eric Reutter, J.D., LL.M.
