The bank will often give the Escrow company this information, even if they won't give it to heirs.

Ask the refinance escrow closer if they can get it without a probate and PR request?

Decedent held property as separate estate and in will left to surviving spouse who just wants to refinance. Title Company will accept a lack of probate affidavit, but since there is an outstanding mortgage, looks like we have no choice but to open a probate. Can anyone see getting around this in order to get a payoff letter?
