Subject: [WSBAPT] Canadian Beneficiaries in Trust

Clients, both US persons, have several heirs who are Canadian residents and citizens. Their estate plan currently calls for establishment of a trust for each beneficiary who is still a youngster (under age 25) at the time of distribution. The trustee would be another relative, also a citizen/resident of Canada. Another beneficiary has diminished ability to handle money, and they want an annuity for his share.

Anyone well versed in cross-border issues with trusts available to help me help these clients. In particular, the spouse who handles more of the paperwork in the family is looking to streamline as much as possible, even to the point of establishing the accounts/trusts for these beneficiaries now so that they could simply direct additional funding in their Wills.
