[WSBAPT] Attorney referral needed

Glenn: I sent your fact pattern to a very knowledgeable PI attorney that I know and she made the following comments:

Since I do personal injury, there needs to be some physical injury involved and this appears to be threats-although very scary ones.  Was there actual physical damage to the car?  Cops rarely cite professional drivers for anything because it threatens their licensure and ability to earn a living driving a vehicle.  It is very frustrating.  If there is actual physical damage to the car then the potential client should turn this matter over to his/her insurer.  In that event, I would counsel them to downplay the deliberate nature of ramming the car with the shuttle because insurance policies do not cover intentional acts.  It could accurately be described as an angry, grossly negligent act.

An estate planning client of ours is looking for a referral to an attorney who might assist them.  I'll forward any contact info. The facts as related by my client:


"The incident involved a Port of Seattle shuttle bus driver who deliberately rammed our car with her bus in addition to threatening [CLIENT] (by stepping on her gas and stopping inches away from [CLIENT]) as she stood  behind her car.



No one was hurt, but the responding officer did not cite the driver for what we experienced as a deliberate threat and act by a public servant.



The driver's supervisor showed up at scene but did not ask for any statement from us.  The responding officer did not cite the driver nor us (we were partially parked in a shuttle-rental car return space, so we were not entirely free from fault).



We are hoping to at least officially record a complaint with the Port re this bus driver.  It is our belief that she her action toward us demonstrates  a potential threat to someone in the future.  She is a public servant...."
