Subject: [WSBAPT] Portland referral

Portland referral needed for a trust in which the trustee may have misused for his benefit. So, possible litigation.

Thanks.

you might check the law in the state (s ) of likely probate for proof of wills but probably all could be solved in a foreign jurisdiction by an apostille from WA Secy of State. Please remit 2 cents in bitcoin value or tape to postcard and mail.

Jenny,

I have had clients use an out of state notary before for powers of attorney. The point is for someone qualified to confirm they are who they say they are, so I can’t see why it would be a problem. I’ll be interested to see if anyone disagrees.

All,

I have a client who is a resident here for whom I've prepared will, POA, HCD. He is out of state and would like to sign his docs as soon as possible. I didn't see anywhere in the statute that required a WA notary, but wanted to double check to make sure that having an out of state notary would not be problematic.

Thank you!
