Good Morning List -

I have a PC who suddenly lost her mother. In general estate planning
conversations prior to death, the decedent told the PC about who would be
executor, general disposition of the property etc. Upon death, however,
the surviving spouse (step-father of PC) has changed locks and prohibited
entry to the residence where the alleged Will is stored in the family safe.

Concerns over the integrity of the Will. Other than serving a discovery
request on the step-father to produce the will - is there any authority
that allows the PC to gain entry to the home to investigate?

Both sides are shocked and saddened by the passing, but it is not getting
off on a good footing for a smooth probate.

Appreciate any tips on how to get the Will produced.

Brent
