Brent:

I don’t know what county/city you are looking for, but I would immediately contact Steve Dale: http://dalelawfirm.com/meet-the-team. Steve is a nationally known advocate and attorney for individuals with special needs & and intellectual and developmental disabilities. He will help or point you in the right direction.

You can also check the website for the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, and use the attorney search function for the city you are looking for. www.naela.org. Another resource would be the local chapter of the ARC; in California information on the state ARC can be found here: http://www.thearcca.org/. The county where your client’s grandson resides may have a local chapter (many counties in Washington state do), and they could be a resource for a referral to a local attorney.

Best of luck, and bless these grandparents for stepping forward to protect and advocate for their vulnerable grandson. Happy Holidays.

With warm regards,

Val

Subject: [WSBAPT] Referral needed - Guardianship of Special Needs child in Camarillo, California

List -

I have clients who have a special needs grandson that is in “horrific and deplorable” conditions in Southern California. They have tried to be supportive from afar but realize that they need to act for the general health and welfare of this child.

Does anyone have any connections or referrals to a number attorney who handles guardianship matters in that area?

Appreciate the assistance.
