[WSBAPT] Thoughts on clio for an estate planning/probate attorney

Sarah,

I also do exclusively estate planning and probate, and I’m a solo, no staff or anything. I tried Clio and it was fine, I don’t recall why I decided against it. I preferred CosmoLex, which I have used for several years now, and I am still very happy with it. One thing I prefer about CosmoLex is that I didn’t like using Quickbooks (My Mac version was quite old, and I was being forced to move to the online version which I had heard negative things about), and CosmoLex has its own built-in accounting system that works really well. I did recently start using a bookkeeper who is certified with CosmoLex, and she cleaned up my chart of accounts and fixed entries that I had done that weren’t accurate from an accounting perspective. I still probably spend too much time on administrative things, but I would never give up CosmoLex (or practice management software of some kind) while continuing my practice. CosmoLex, like Clio (or so I hear), also has excellent customer service.
