Hi Christina,
I have been working on an OK probate as well, and I believe that a recorded divorce decree may be sufficient to transfer the property -- in other words, a deed may not be necessary.
Feel free to contact me tomorrow if you have questions.
Thanks,
John

Subject: [WSBAPT] Removing missing ex-spouse's name from OK property deed

I am doing estate planning for a client who has a small parcel of property in OK which we would like to put into trust to avoid probate in OK. Client bought the property while married to his ex-wife. Divorce decree left the property to him, but he never had the ex-wife's name taken off the deed. He divorced her 30 years ago and she cannot be located. Client has paid property taxes and fees on the property for the past 30 years. Anyone know the best way to get her name taken off the deed?

Thanks,
