If it is proper for their situation, then go ahead and have them sign a copy

Hi, again,

I’m following up on the same clients. Their daughter was able to get copies of their wills and community property agreement from the office of their former (deceased) attorney. Can they reaffirm or re-sign copies of the wills? I’m really just trying to save them money.

Hello, all, I need some wisdom.

I did codicils for a married couple whose wills didn’t need a total re-do. Their wills were identical but for switched names. I kept a copy of one of the wills to use for the codicil and I intended to get a copy of the other will when they came in to sign. Now post-signing, they are unable to find the original wills, including the one I copied.

The wills were pretty simple. The codicils changed the PR and the beneficiaries; in other words the most important parts of the wills. If they can’t ever find their wills, would the codicils stand on their own?

Thanks.
