Take a look at RCW 11.96A.040.  Probate can be filed in any County.  However, publication of notice to creditors must be in the County of residence.  See RCW 11.40.020(2).

Hello list mates,

Testator died in King County, Seattle, WA.  Personal Representative lives in Whitman County, WA.  She would like to open the probate in Whitman County.  RCW 11.20.010 states the will shall be delivered to the court having jurisdiction.

Does the probate have to be in King County?  Can she file it in Whitman County?
