Paul,

Reporting unsafe drivers is not confidential and the DOL will not respond to anonymous reports. The DOL also does not consider age alone as the determining factor to question a person's ability to drive.

If the elderly person has an attorney in fact, maybe he or she can discuss the family concerns with the family member and/or with his or her doctor.  There are organizations that perform Driver Evaluations for seniors. Such as UW Medical -    http://sci.washington.edu/info/driving_program.asp , AAA, or CHC Services.  Tough situation though.

Very truly yours,

I have been approached by a concerned citizen who quires if it is possible to anonymously report to “someone” that an elderly person should not be driving a vehicle?  Basically, a family member wants to “turn in” a relative but avoid identification.  Any suggestions?
