My humble reading of the law is that the holder of the will (my read is the original) must file it.  Purpose no doubt is so others who could open probate have the original Will with which to do so.  Soooo, I personally see no obligation to do anything if you do not actually have the necessary original will.

Happy to hear how I'm wrong and misguided.
