This is a scenario which I have dealt with on several occasions and would be happy to consult with your client regarding the various challenges it raises.

Subject: [WSBAPT] Off-topic - mental health

Hi, listmates,

A Seattle client recently attempted suicide. His husband needs some guidance to work through any legal issues that might arise related to inpatient treatment, health insurance, decision-making, and other issues I just don't know about. (Although a police officer told him that attempted suicide is a chargeable crime, I am hopeful that the officer was simply being callous and wasn't planning to file.)

Does anyone have experience in this area? Thanks.
