[WSBAPT] Appointing PR named in Will and PR Spouse not named

To quote an authority:

'When I use a word,' Humpty Dumpty
<http://sabian.org/looking_glass6.php> said, in rather a scornful tone,
'it means just what I choose it to mean — neither more nor less.'

'The question is,' said Alice, 'whether you can make words
mean so many different things.'

'The question is,' said Humpty Dumpty, 'which is to be master
— that's all.'

Alice was too much puzzled to say anything; so after a minute
Humpty Dumpty began again. 'They've a temper, some of them — particularly
verbs: they're the proudest — adjectives you can do anything with, but not
verbs — however, I can manage the whole lot of them! Impenetrability!
That's what I say!'

'Would you tell me please,' said Alice, 'what that means?'

'Now you talk like a reasonable child,' said Humpty Dumpty,
looking very much pleased. 'I meant by "impenetrability" that we've had
enough of that subject, and it would be just as well if you'd mention what
you mean to do next, as I suppose you don't mean to stop here all the rest
of your life.'

'That's a great deal to make one word mean,' Alice said in a
thoughtful tone.

'When I make a word do a lot of work like that,' said Humpty
Dumpty, 'I always pay it extra.'

Sincerely,

Eric

Okay, and now that we are making admissions…………I always have a problem
with PC – is that prospective client or politically correct or protective
custody???? Or something else?

That LWT one took me awhile, too. But… it still takes me a second to
translate Certified Public Accountant into Community Property Agreement,
whenever I see CPA in a posting. K

Thank you, Tom.

I do feel a little bit foolish, but I was focused on a PERSON, as opposed
to a document.

It all makes sense, now, and my day is now complete – albeit with just a
little bit of egg on my face. But I told you that I did not care. And I
will try not to care.

Regards,

Doug

Sorry to be thick-headed, but is there anyone else who cannot put her/his
mind enough into gear to know what an LWT is? I know the person in
question signed a Will, and I know that Testator/Testatrix starts with a
T, but the word Decedent or Deceased do not, so where does that leave us?

The best I could come up with was “Long Winded Testator,” but that
description would better go to the attorney who wrote the overly-long
Will, as opposed to the Testator.

It would probably not have much of an effect on my following the
discussion, which Mr. Furgason, as usual, in his able way, managed to
bring all together with sensible advice, but I would be ever so much more
informed if I knew the meaning of one more acronym that others find
useful.

I will probably feel silly when someone tells me, but I guess I am willing
to risk that.

Thanks.

Subject: [WSBAPT] Appointing PR named in Will and PR Spouse not named

This is a first for me. LWT appointed a non-family member as PR and did
not name spouse as PR for community assets of which there are plenty.
Spouse does not want to decline nor does named PR. Both are willing to do
Co-PR and to sign informed consent conflict letter to have me represent
them in the Probate. Aside from the obvious pitfall of representing these
joint PRs, do any of you have advice on setting up the Petition to admit
Will and appoint the PRs? Should one PR be solely in charge of decedent’s
separate property and the other in charge of community and if so, are the
really Co-PRs or ?????? And then, what special language is used for the
Letters Testamentary since one is named in Will and the other is
authorized (entitled) as a creature of statute?

Sincerely,

Tom
