[WSBAPT] Washington uniform real property transfer on death act

Good afternoon.

Washington adopted the Washington uniform real property transfer on death
act this year (Second Engrossed Substitute House Bill 1117). The law
becomes effective on June 12, 2014, and provides for a transfer-on-death
deed.

What are the pros and cons to this form of deed for estate planning? One
con is the unknown inherent in any new form of instrument, which could
unintentionally cloud the title to valuable real estate.

Best wishes,

David
