[WSBAPT] Can a corporation serve as its own registered agent?

That is not proper and is strange. Not sure how that happened, but
probably due to other corporate Registered agents like CT Systems, etc. If
the Corporation needs to serve itself, then service upon any officer of
the Corporation is effective. Try it at the Registered office a couple of
times and if that doesn’t work, then serve one of the Officers at home.

Sincerely,

Tom

Subject: [WSBAPT] Can a corporation serve as its own registered agent?

Really a corporate question, but I have run into this issue with two
homeowners associations formed as non-profit corporations: XYZ, a
Non-Profit Corporation, has designated XYZ, a Non-Profit Corporation. as
its corporate registered agent, with its registered office located at the
Foundation’s principal place of business. No individual is named as the
RA. XYZ does not list serving as process service agent as one of its
corporate “purposes for which the corporation is organized in the
Articles filed with the SOS, per RCW 23.03.025. The SOS has apparently
accepted the “Consent” signed by XYZ to serve as its own RA. Seems
strange.
