There are probably many attorneys knowledgeable in Sno Co probates who
would watch out for the kids’ interests and get paid later. Different
story if there are no assets.

Subject: [WSBAPT] [SPAM] Probate question re: minor beneficiaries

I am getting ready to open a probate in Snohomish county where Decedent
will have separate property (inheritance from his mother). Decedent died
without a will and left his spouse and 2 minor children. So, in this case,
the children will be entitled to 1/2 of his separate property. Do I need
to petition for a guardian ad litem for the children? What happens if
client cannot afford to pay for a guardian ad litem up front? All advice
appreciated.
