Hi Jackie:

Thanks for the note.  You are correct that the list now defaults to a
reply only to the poster, and not to the entire list.  One has to “reply
all” to include the list on the response.  This is becoming the norm on
many lists to avoid having people post to all when only a reply to one
person was intended.  That said, lists are most helpful when everyone sees
the entire dialogue.  I can send an e-mail to all highlighting this.

We are still having some problems with getting messages to and from
everyone.  As noted before, some spam filters are filtering out mail, so I
expect several of our members are having a tough time either posting or
getting messages.  We are trying to get this fixed – but we still have a
couple of technical bugs to work out.  We are trying to make that happen
as soon as we can.

Doug -

I just responded to a post that Margaret Delp posted about and IRA and
disclaimers.

When I respond I noticed that it just appears to go directly to her email,
not to the list.

On the old system, any response would go to the list.

That may be why the postings seem to be down.  We are only getting the
inquiries, not the responses.

I am still pulling the list serve emails out of spam.  Some of them go to
spam; some of them don't.

My spam box doesn't seem to believe me when I tell it that they are not
spam.

I figured I would wait until you had the new list serve all set up before
I try to tame my spam box.

Hi all:

This is to let you know that for the moment messages can only be delivered
“real time” to subscribers.  As soon as the archives are re-established we
should be able to re-implement the list digest option.  If you are not
familiar with this option, it allows you to receive all of the messages
from a given day at one time.  We normally set the digest so that it
delivers the day’s messages at midnight.

We are also working on some other details relating to message format,
including header/footer content.  Please bear with us during the
transition, but do let us know if you have any questions or see anything
that you think needs a look (or a quick fix).  Please send comments and
requests to webmaster at wsbarppt.com so that both Brett and I will receive
it.
