[WSBAPT] Kitsap Co. Probate Q

I don’t know about Kitsap County. Pierce County has now changed their
rule, after some effective advocacy. The Court reviews in 5 years except
in some limited circumstances.

Subject: RE: [WSBAPT] Kitsap Co. Probate Q

Hi All,

I have a probate case in Kitsap County, PR has nonintervention powers and
estate is solvent. One-year anniversary of opening probate in Jan. 25,
2014 (this Sat.). It appears that all I need to do is file a status
report of the PR’s progress in probate (we’re almost done with it) with
the court (which I can do by mail), but I wonder if any of you can tell me
if Kitsap Co. requires the attorney to make an appearance in court to
provide the status report. I have no paperwork at all that states I need
to be in court this week on this matter, but the counties that have
e-filing automatically give you a 1-year anniversary hearing date to give
the status of the case. I have been checking the court’s online calendar
and calling the court clerk, to see if I need to be there, but nothing
shows up online (that I can find), and the clerk has been hard to reach.
Can anyone let me know if you go to probate court in Kitsap Co. to orally
provide the status of the case if probate is still open at that point, or
is it ok just to file the status report without appearing in court?

Thanks,

Heather Kolbly
