Yes, they can designate an alternate custodian; however, it should be done
directly with the company who holds the account (assuming it is a company
who does financial services).

I have a client who is and has been the third-party custodian for a minor
for ten years. I am drafting their will. Can they name a successor
third-party custodian if they pass and the child is still a minor? And is
there specific language I need to use?
