As I understand your question, per IRS rules a DPOA cannot represent a
principal in a bankruptcy proceeding unless the DPOA specifically gives
them that power. I learned that important tidbit via an excellent
presentation from a bankruptcy lawyer at the KCBA GELS meeting several
years ago. Here is the paragraph I have in my DPOA. I would be interested
in knowing if anyone uses a variation of the same.

(w) Bankruptcy. To file for federal bankruptcy on my behalf and attend
the meeting of my creditors or any adjournment thereof, and to vote on my
behalf on any question that may be lawfully submitted to creditors at such
meeting or adjourned meeting and for a trustee or trustees of my estate;
